In-building
With an ever increasing number of mobile phones in operation, the existing cellular macro networks are beginning to reach saturation in respect of capacity capability. The Operators, having rightly decided that the installation of more masts around the country is not the best way to resolve this problem, and are now looking at providing individual cells within corporate and public area buildings. This strategy allows corporate clients to have their own system thus guaranteeing them network capability during their busiest periods. MiTech Global, working in close co-operation, are able to provide turnkey in-building solutions to the cellular market for both cellular and corporate clients. This solution typically uses a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) to support the service, and the DAS system can be either passive (co-axial) or active (Fibre/CAT5) (Fibre/COAX).
The DAS may be installed for two main reasons:
- Poor network coverage
- Insufficient capacity
The DAS takes a signal from a base transceiver station (BTS) and re-distributes this around the building using a number of small, low power antennae.
MiTech Global has the capability to design and engineer the entire in-building system, including the following:
- Radio frequency survey
- Radio systems design Health & Safety (NRPB & ICNIRP)
- Installation design
- Site drawings
- As built documentation
- System commissioning
- Project Management
- Maintenance
This type of system can also be used for the PMR radio systems used by corporate and public area clients as part of their security portfolio.
